Owning a garden is the city is a luxury and there is no other way of putting that. Gardens whether indoor or outdoor cost time and money to setup and maintain. However, one cannot understate the therapeutic experience of being in nature. The soothing sounds of birds and the gentle breeze and cool fresh air that comes with being in the outdoors. With the daily stresses that have become the norm of the modern world enjoying time in nature is a great pleasure and an absolute luxury. But it is a luxury that is well worth it.
Imagine a lush oasis that seamlessly blends the comforts of indoor living with the vibrant beauty of an outdoor garden. This doesn't have to be an imagination but can be your reality. Of course, it will require some dedication and time to achieve it but it is definitely a worthy venture.
Anyone can create a garden and experience the benefits of outdoor living but not all gardens are created equal. The goal here is to create luxurious retreats that you and your loved ones can enjoy. Also, a luxurious garden can help you monetize your outdoor space by renting it out for good money. Even if you are not looking to commercialize your garden, you probably don't want your neighbors spying on your every move. Create a private space that you can feel free to kick back and relax.
To achieve this the first thing you need to consider is privacy. There is always something alluring about a mystery. To that effect, exclusive spaces tend to fetch a pretty high price and attract many individuals. As such, privacy is vital to turning your place luxurious. Use screens, room dividers or fabrics to create that outdoor privacy.
To create a truly enchanting atmosphere, embrace the play of light and shadow within your garden getaway. Install translucent fabric shades above the outdoor living area. This will take your space to the next level and gently filter the direct sunlight hence casting a warm, diffused glow over your lush sanctuary. This can be particularly helpful in hot areas or seasons.
When creating your garden retreat do not overlook the importance of a kaleidoscope of colors and textures. The feel of the garden is greatly dependent on the diverse array of plants and flowers. From the deep evergreen hues of creeping wall plants to the vibrant blooms of hanging baskets cascading from above, it is vital to ensure every corner of your garden is a feast for the eyes.
A garden is not complete without fruit trees. Not only are they practical, fruit trees can greatly elevate your garden as they change in appearance with different seasons. Moreover, this will enable you to attract some birds and give you an even better feel of nature.
Also curate beautiful colors with strategically placed flower pots of different plant varieties. The mix of elegant pots and vibrant colors from the flowers will enhance your garden and transform it into a tranquil getaway that you can look forward to enjoying. These beautiful pieces can also be conversation starters when you're hosting tea parties, dinners or guests in your garden.
No magical garden would be complete without the soothing presence of water features. Whether you're doing a luxury pool and garden or a small intimate space, consider incorporating a bubbling fountain or a serene pond. This will, allow the gentle trickle of water to create a calming ambiance. The sound of water not only soothes the soul but also adds a sense of movement and life to your indoor-outdoor paradise.
You can pick large water features or small water features like the ones in the design I did above. No matter what your budget is you can manage at least one water feature and that always takes your outdoor garden to the next level.
I strongly believe in symmetry wherever possible as this always brings about a sense of elegance. It also shows that the space was deliberately designed. However, too much symmetry can work against you and make the space feel too reserved rather than relaxed. For an outdoor garden a dose of organized chaos is vital. Have contrasting features here and there. Use a combination of fabrics and textures or utilize different styles to break the monotony.
Sunsets are some of the most satisfying things to enjoy from a garden. Strategically placing ambient lighting can transform your garden oasis into a captivating sunset look. You can look into incorporating warm lighting to create a twinkling canopy overhead.
Lighting can also be vital to highlighting the architectural elements of the space or sculptural plants, casting dramatic shadows and adding depth to your garden's design.
Monetize it- Coz Why Not?
If you have gone to the trouble of creating a botanical oasis in the city, you might be one of the few that have such a space. As stated earlier, creating a private garden can be costly and can set you back quite a bit. However, you can turn your private oasis into a money maker. This can help you offset the maintenance fees and leave you with some extra cash in the bank. From romantic getaways, proposal settings, and wedding venues to team building, the possibilities are endless.
You can create website to curate your space and have a booking option or post images online. Of course, you don't have to monetize your space if you don't want to but it is a worthy consideration.
By seamlessly blending the indoors and outdoors, and infusing your garden with vibrant colors, privacy, soothing water features, filtered natural light, and ambient evening illumination, you can create a truly magical retreat that transcends the boundaries of ordinary outdoor living.
Cheers!
